Smt. Vibha Harikar trains students in the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam at Natyamala in Fairfax. This style is a legacy of legendary teachers such as Vazhavoor Ramaiah Pillai and K. J. Sarasa. Vibha initially trained under Smt. Girija Rajendran and continued her dance instruction under Smt. Padmini Ravi of Bengaluru, a disciple of K. J. Sarasa.

Over the past few years, Natyamala students have performed at several area events such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, Fiesta Asia Festival, IDEA dance showcase and International Dancers showcase at the World Bank. Students also have participated and won awards at the Papanasm Sivan, AIMREC & Silicon Andhra Annamaya Jayanti dance competitions held in the D.C. Metro area and nationally. Natyamala has participated in fundraisers and events at local temples and non-profit organizations.

In 2012, Vibha was recognized by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia for her contributions in enriching the lives of Virginia residents through the Performing Arts. As a member of IDEA, she performed at Wolf Trap and on the Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center. In the spring of 2019, Vibha and her students performed in the school's ten-year anniversary production, Aabhoga: The Variety, which highlighted the beauty and diversity in Indian dance. Vibha has conducted several student Arangetrams with eminent musicians from India.

Vibha considers herself blessed to be part of such a divine heritage and is committed to passing the dance tradition to the next generation of dancers and enthusiasts. Bharatanatyam is a wonderful means to stay in touch with the wisdom and lore that make up the rich tapestry of Indian culture.

In addition to practising and propagating dance, Vibha also works full time as a software professional at Oracle Corporation.
